E-Commerce Toy and Piece Set Shipping Bag Packaging Guide

Toys, puzzles, collectible figures and piece sets in e-commerce almost always come in a factory hard cardboard box. Polyethylene shipping bag is applied over this box as an outer transport and privacy layer; The aim is not to carry the parts freely in the bag, but to reduce the risk of corner impact, tearing, moisture and cargo belt damage. Unlike electronics or cosmetics lines, here hard volume + sharp corner + medium weight are the priority: selection by sectors

Small box / single figure blister (≈ 15×20×5 cm): 25×35 or 30×40 cm; box longest side + 2–3 cm allowance

Big set box or multi box package: 40×50cm; Bags should not be selected without measuring the height.

Promotional set (2–3 medium boxes): 45×55 cm; The bag should not be closed until the boxes are secured without slipping.

Excessively wide bags cause box slippage and corner impact during sorting; Fixed size + fixed microns per SKU rule is recommended.

There should be no space inside the bag around the box — the bag should be chosen close to the size of the box.

In very heavy sets (large number of pieces) the carrying handle or bottom panel of the primary box must be crush tested

Drop test on the warehouse line: single box from 50 cm, taped bag closed - if there is a tear in the corner, the micron is increased

Light single box (≈ 200–600 g): 50 micron is sufficient for many lines. 55 microns are evaluated in large cartons or multiple sets with sharp corners. The tape is resealed in the Marketplace return cycle — the micron guide and adhesive tape quality must be tested together.

In gift and licensed toy channels, the matte black or grey-black bag hides the box printing. Transparent model can be used for warehouse barcode and internal control — film type guide.

The invoice and return label can be carried on the outer layer; Invoice pocket integration or pocket pouch reduces document loss. The bag must be renewed in the returned box; The old tape trace weakened bag should not be reused.

Should the parts be carried freely in bags? No. Parts should only be shipped in the manufacturer's box; The pouch is the outer protection layer.

Typical bag size for LEGO box? 35×45cm for standard middle box; In large sets, the box bottom is measured and the 40×50 cm band is applied.

Can the transparent bag be used in toys? Yes, in warehouse verification lines; If customer privacy is a priority, matte or gray film is preferred.

Is additional packaging required for fragile plastic blister? Damaged blister should be replaced; The sachet does not replace the blister. If necessary, thin bubble wrap is applied inside the primary box, leaving the bag outside.
